The first phase of this project consisted of choosing 3 fruits and doing different experiments to explore their shape, texture, and other aspects. It was then revealed that we would be making a lamp inspired by our fruit. My fruit of choice was the kiwi. The biggest aspect of the kiwi I wanted to communicate in my lamp was it's texture so I sought to make my lamp a tactile experience. During my experiments and research I also discovered how much kiwis have in common with jellyfish (similar enzymes, bioluminescence, and the inside of a kiwi even looks like jellyfish tentacles).
